Lesley is a director, writer and curator based in Melbourne/Naarm. Her films are selected by festivals locally and internationally, and she received awards and grants including VicScreen Best Director of an Australian Short Film at MQFF 2024.

 

Born and raised in Chongqing, China, Lesley’s themes explore queer diaspora, intimacy and lived experience, female subjectivity in Australian culture and landscape.

 

Interdisciplinarily, Lesley curates film programs and exhibitions, and she facilitates community based filmmaking workshop to help people make meaningful audio-visual works to express their creativity. She also researches on queer representation, recommendation system and algorithmic culture.
