Subtle Gazer | experimental short film | 7 mins | Australia | Non dialogue with English caption
Synoposis: particularly created for gallery space, this is a short experimental film of observation. Drawing inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s The Waves, "I’m rooted, but I flow", and Chinese Taoist "Am I the person dreaming of butterfly, or I'm the butterfly dreaming of the person", the film adopts an experimental gaze to attend to the overlooked details of the natural environment around Victoria— noticing what lingers at the edges of perception and shapes our identities, experiences, and the ways of seeing. This gaze is soft yet deliberate, uncovering mobility and resilience within spaces that forming queer experiences and identities.
